Dry fire mains

VSH XPress Carbon and Stainless are 2 choices when it comes to dry fire mains. VSH XPress Carbon Sprinkler is often used as an alternative against welding and threading for traditional dry fire mains in dimensions going up to 88,9 mm. This is backed up by the VdS approval which is often required for such installations in the German market.

VSH XPress Stainless is the solution when looking at high pressure dry fire mains, a typical application finding its origin in the Netherlands. Working pressures going up to 40 bar are standard and all parties involved see the benefits of this system.


Fire brigade

  • Water is quickly available to engage the fire, due to use of high pressure and small diameters
  • No time loss by checking the shut off valves
  • No heavy crate with fire equipment that has to be lifted
     

Building owner

  • Lower building costs using pipe dimensions of 28 mm instead of 3” tubes
  • Less collateral damage as less water is used- more esthetic than thick wall piping, can be placed in sight
     

Installer

  • The 28 mm piping is lighter and easier to handle than the 3” piping
  • Clean, easy and fast installation when using VSH XPress
     

Dry fire mains
VSH XPress Carbon fittings with zinc plated precision VSH XPress Carbon Sendzimir tubes which fulfill EN 10305-3 or VSH XPress Stainless fittings with VSH XPress Stainless tube, which are approved according among others VdS.

  • O-rings: EPDM (black)
  • Operating temperature: -35°C to +135°C
  • Operating pressure: max. 16 bar (depending on application and dimensions)


High pressure dry fire mains
VSH XPress Stainless fittings with VSH XPress Stainless tube which have been approved by Kiwa for pressure up to 40 bar.

  • O-rings: EPDM (black)
  • Operating temperature: -35°C to +135°C
  • Dimensions: 22-35 mm (other dimensions available on request)
  • Operating pressure: 40 bar

High pressure dry fire mains are an application where customer specific couplings are combined with the VSH XPress Sprinkler system as an alternative to standard dry fire mains.
